Charles was the 4th of 8 sons born to the Negociant (merchant), Pierr e Beaujean. After the death of Charles' father in 1748, one of his old er brothers would have assumed control of the family business. Charle s might have been dispatched to Boston to represent his family busines s interests in that important trading port. While in Boston, he wed Ma ry Harris in the Anglican Church. She was also known as Marie Harris D ubec or just Marie Dubec on Guadeloupe. It is unclear how much time Ch arles Beaujean or his wife spent in Boston. The couple was in Guadelou pe in Sep 1757 for the birth of a son, Pierre Francois, and they bot h died on Guadeloupe.
