John W. and Charles Craig had an older sister named Mary, who was born about 1756. Mary Craig didn't seem to have much luck with her husbands: On November 21, 1778, in Rockbridge County Virginia, she first married William Groves. This is documente d by a marriage bond recorded in 1778 in Rockbridge County, Virginia (Marriage Bond - Mary Craig & Wm. Groves). The brides parents are recorded on the bond, as John & Elizabeth Craige. William Groves died in 1793, leaving Mary to raise their son J ohn Groves.
Rockbridge County Tax lists for 1783 and 1785 show Mary Groves with one horse and one cow. In 1785 the widow Groves then married, in Rockbridge County Virginia, one Daniel C. Miller. (Records show a Marriage Bond for "Mary Graves - widow"; John Cr aige signs it in 1785 in Rockbridge County.) Daniel C. Miller died in 1790, leaving Mary a widow once again.
Mary Craig Groves Miller then married Robert Martin in 1791, and they moved to Summersville, West Virginia. Mary died there, in 1830 and is buried in the Miller Cemetery at Kessler Cross Lanes, near Summersville, West Virginia.
