John W. and Charles Craig had an older sister named Mary, who was bor n about 1756. Mary Craig didn't seem to have much luck with her husban ds: On November 21, 1778, in Rockbridge County Virginia, she first mar ried William Groves. This is documented by a marriage bond recorded i n 1778 in Rockbridge County, Virginia (Marriage Bond - Mary Craig & Wm . Groves). The brides parents are recorded on the bond, as John & Eliz abeth Craige. William Groves died in 1793, leaving Mary to raise thei r son John Groves.

Rockbridge County Tax lists for 1783 and 1785 show Mary Groves with on e horse and one cow. In 1785 the widow Groves then married, in Rockbri dge County Virginia, one Daniel C. Miller. (Records show a Marriage Bo nd for "Mary Graves - widow"; John Craige signs it in 1785 in Rockbrid ge County.) Daniel C. Miller died in 1790, leaving Mary a widow once a gain.

Mary Craig Groves Miller then married Robert Martin in 1791, and the y moved to Summersville, West Virginia. Mary died there, in 1830 and i s buried in the Miller Cemetery at Kessler Cross Lanes, near Summersvi lle, West Virginia.
